My Dear Fan,
A most beautiful day to go aboard. If you were here I would think it June 1914.
I was not one of the very fortunate ones as my state room is two decks down-1st cabin-on the same deck as the dining room, but it has a port hole and I hope not to be ill.
We each have a deck chair. Suppose mine will be occupied most of the time!
Was sorry to get a letter this morning as a parting send off, but I know I will not have to wait long on the other side for one. We are all very happy.
There are four of us in the state room and I drew a lower berth.
Took the ferry down the river yesterday. Ex-president Taft was a passenger. He looked very jovial.
